What you need / Packing List

No special skills are required. Just enthusiasm, a sense of adventure, and the physical ability appropriate to the tour you choose. Pack lightweight, washable clothes plus a sweater for early morning game drives, a sunhat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Long sleeves and trousers in light-colored fabrics help discourage insect bites.

Below is a list of items you should bring;

  • Passport
  • Jacket/sweaters (for early mornings & evenings)
  • Warm and light clothes
  • Pair of sneakers (night time in the campsite)
  • Flashlight
  • Insect repellent
  • Suntan lotion
  • Any allergy medication
  • Cameras (additional batteries and/or chargers)

The Serengeti and the Crater can get very cold in the early mornings and at night, so perhaps a warm pair of socks also. Tsetse flies are in abundance in the parks, they are particularly attracted to blue and black so we advise that you do not wear items of this color whilst on safari.

You may want to bring snacks and perhaps additional water if you feel you'll want it. Beverages/drinks are expensive in the parks and at the campsite, so you may want to get those before hand, you can stop on the way to the parks to purchase these.  We also advise that you have a pair of binoculars with you, it is possible to hire these in town.

Tip recommendations:

The recommended tip for a cook is $15 per day, and driver/guide is $20 per day. The tip can be paid as a group tip at the end of your safari.
